I'm not sure why I have so much trouble trying to come up with a menu every week. It is becoming more and more draining. I've been sitting at the computer looking through recipes for hours tonight and I have nothing. I need Jeannie....she could whip up something for me, I'm more than willing to go shopping for the food as long as I don't have to make the dang menu. It's along the line of putting away clothes after they've been washed/dried and folded. lol

Trying Again
It's that time again, the time I decide that I should "try" and journal about lifes ups and downs.
I have done NO stitching in well; forever. I'm hoping to end the dry spell now that work has calmed down. I have a better shot of leaving on time and not pulling 50 hr weeks. Well; momentarily anyway. Work is going well and I'm happy to report that our shoe department made it to the top 3rd of the company and we'll be getting even more attention from the DSW District Manager. We have a shoe conference call every week and the top 3rd will have one every other week. Oh the joys of more work. ;)
The boy graduates this year and we're hoping he decides what direction he wants to take his life. I know I'm more than frustrated with the lack of well....anything. We've also added more Dr. visits to his schedule. We are really focusing on getting his skin issues figured out. It's going to take time and patience on my part; which seems to be on the low side lately. I'm sure some of it is denial. The other Dr. we get to visit this month is his Opthamologist (cornea specialist to be exact), his eyes are another area we have to watch. Sadly for us, Dr. Johnson is retiring from the Army. Thankfully; he's been hired on as a civilian and will continue to be The Boys Dr. ***WHEW*** That man is awesome and I'm extatic that we don't have to start over with someone else. The Boy will have to at some point, but for now we're good.
The girl is in her Jr year. Volleyball didn't go exactly how we had hoped; but we survived. She played, just not as much as she's been used to by a lot. She played in only non conference games mainly and I think she may have played in a game that we should have won by a great margin (though; they barely pulled it out). Here's hoping that she kicks ass and gets a lot of playing time next season. So, now it's on to track. Season hasn't even started yet and she's gone through a lot of event(s) talk with the Coach. Started out not running the 100 hurdles and running the 300 hurdles as well as a leg of the 4x4. Then she was only going to do the 300 hurdles. Yesterday she was practicing the 100 hurdles for Coach and was able to do the 3 step approach between hurdles; so she's now back to running the 100 and 300 hurdles. Newest update is the text I got from her today stating that she was staying after school because Coach wanted her to practice the triple jump. So; now I'm holding out hope that she gets to jump during the meets.
The hubby and I doing well and pretty much enjoying life together. Gotta get ready for that empty next stuff. I'm doing better dealing with the fact that is staring me in the face. Can't hang onto the 4 year olds forever; 18 and 17 are coming this year. No matter how much kicking and screaming I do to try and stop it; it just keeps coming.

Catching Up a Bit
Okay this picture was taken on the 27th of December.
I put it down and finally picked it back up on the 30th of January thanks to 2 hours of sitting time while the boy is at First Tee learning great life lessons and playing golf.
It's been roughly a month of Sundays at First Tee (not that I stitch the whole time.....lets not get TOOOOOOOOOOOO crazy here. I do enjoy a game or two on my iPod. ;) ). There wasn't a class yesterday; but I did put a few stitches in on it anyway; just because.
Then there is the girl. She's on the right side of this picture. Dressed in her A Team warm up shirt. She started the season on A Team, broke her ankle, came back and was put on the B Team. The girl that moved up into her spot was sick last Wednesday, so Renee got her spot back (for that game only as far as we know). She isn't a fan of me taking pictures as is evident with the running. lol She played really well and doesn't seem to favor her ankle at all when she's playing. :) This game was for the District Championship. Thankfully DH was off and took the boy to his future HS for class registration. Because of that I was able to watch the Defenders win the Championship game!! So much competition for a MS, I really don't remember all of this when I was a kid. Not sure I would have liked it either!!!
So; to sum it up. I stitched on Pot Luck and nothing else like I should have. The girl is back to basketball and having fun with the last few games of the season and the boy has filled out HS registration forms. Now to play the waiting game to see if he got the things he signed up for.

A bit of stitching...............
actually got done!! It's a bit amazing; but I have actually done a little stitching. I worked on Pirate Treasure and BoINK. We made it through the New Year and all that good stuff and had lots of family time. It's always great to have some family time. I don't really have much to write this time; I'm saving that for the day I get to write that the girl is free to run around the world again. :)
Here is PTM as it stands, so much left to do; but it was great to stitch on it again. :)

1st Game
With roughly 5 minutes left to play, DD twisted her ankle while making a layup. She did in fact get the basket. :) Sadly, the end result is a cast. This picture is her ankle while waiting to see what the X-ray's said.Yup.......broken. Her lovely new blue cast while it's drying.
Making space for extra swelling, you know; just in case it happens. Better safe than sorry right? After this move, it was wrapped in an ace bandage.
Had some issues with the 1st cast after they looked at the new X-rays. So, cast #2 had to be created. It came with a color change. She moved onto purple.

Here's hoping that she heals well!!!

A bit more on Thanksgiving.
Kids were waiting for us to decide we were ready for the feast to begin. The girl was "starving" and the boy just wanted to get dinner going so he could find a reason to head to his room. lol Yup; that's the teenagers love for ya. ;)
The upside down apple pie, tastes better than it looks. I WILL be making this again since the taste makes up for the shoddy workmanship that I had. :( Well, practice makes perfect right? Guess that means a few more pies in my future. Darn....lol
We watched a movie last night, so I did a little stitching. Pot Luck came out and I got some more done. This one is really fun for me right now, so stitching away when I get the urge.

Thanksgiving 2010
It's that time again, time to get everything prepped for the "big" day. A day filled with turkey, stuffing, all the trimmings and of course..........pie!!! I'm not a pumpkin pie fan, so pecan it is. This year I'm also going to attempt an upside down apple pie.
The other day I started to stitch on Pot Luck by Ink Circles. I'm not to far into it; but not bad for stitching while waiting for The Boy to get his allergy shot and a stitch here and there during the movie Scott Pilgrim vs The World (I think that's the right name for the movie). It wasn't as good as I thought it would be; but not as bad as it could have been. Now; who knows what tomorrow will bring.
